Appropriate Use of E-Resources Licensed by NUS Libraries

1. Access to the licensed electronic resources is for appropriate use by NUS staff, students and authorised users only.
2. The resources are for educational, scholarly, research purposes and non-commercial use only.
3. Usage is governed by:
   • License agreements of content providers. Refer to additional terms of use in providers’ websites
   • Copyright Act 2021
4. Prohibited uses:
   Using e-resources for commercial purposes

   Posting content or violating Copyright Act 2021

   Performing massive searches and data downloading

   Making content available to non-NUS users

   Modifying or creating derivatives

   Conducting text and data mining without prior approval from the content provider including the use of artificial intelligence tools

   Sharing user ID and password to access content
5. Consequences of prohibited uses:
   • Disruption of access for the entire NUS community
   • Suspension of library services and/or disciplinary action by NUS
