李宝平(Lee Poh Ping)
李宝平，一九四二年出生于马来西亚。中学毕业后，到英国接受师资训练课程，一九六一年毕业。后在中学担任教师两年半。一九六四年进入马来亚大学历史系攻读，一九六七年获历史系第一等荣誉学士学位。留任助教一年。一九六八年赴美深造，进入康乃尔大学政治学系攻读，一九七四年荣获政治学博士学位。论文为《Chinese society in nineteenth and early twentieth century Singapore : a socioeconomic analysis》。此论文经修改后于一九七八年由牛津大学出版社以专书出版。返回后，曾任马来亚大学经济管理系属下政治与行政学部教授兼主任。现为马来西亚国民大学教授兼马来西亚及国际研究院高级院士。他的研究范围相当广泛，曾先後发表过有关马来西亚和新加坡华人社会、经济、政治以及日本在东南亚国际关系中扮演角色的论文。目前正致力于对马来西亚的《向东学习政策》（Look East Policy in Malaysia)的研究和评估，并计划出版专书。他也常在新海峡时报和星报的专栏发表文章。
李教授是马来西亚——美国教育交流委员会主席，也是研究日本问题《马来西亚日本研究会》会长。
