郭振羽(Kuo, Eddie Chen Yu)
郭振羽，一九四零年出生于中国福建。一九六二年毕业于国立政治大学，获文学士学位，主修新闻学。一九六六年考获美国夏威夷大学硕士学位，主修社会学， 一九七二年又考获美国明尼苏达大学社会学博士学位，论文是“Bilingual socialization of pre-school Chinese children in the twin cities area”。
郭振羽博士于一九六六年至一九六八年曾担任台湾国立中兴大学社会系讲师，一九七零年至一九七二年任美国明尼苏达州州立学院讲师。一九七二年至一九七三年任威斯康辛助理教授。
郭教授于一九七三年移居新加坡，任新加坡大学社会系讲师，一九七八年晋升为高级讲师。一九八六年至一九八九年出任社会系主任。主讲新加坡社会与家庭双语政策，社会研究方法传播社会学和海外华人等课题。
一九九零年新加坡国立大学成立大众传播系，郭教授被借调至该系为首位系主任。一九九二年大众传播系并入南洋理工大学并扩充为传播学院，郭教授是教授兼首任院长。传播学院设有四个学组，提供传播学学士，硕士和博士课程。一九九四年传播学院创办了学生校园报纸“The Nanyang Chronicle”以中英文报导校园内重要事件，让学生有机会学习写作和报导工作。
郭教授目前是 Asian Journal of Communication 的创办人兼联合主编也是 Journal of Asia-Pacific Communication (USA), Journal of Development Communication (Malaysia), 和 Journal of International Communication (Australia) 的咨询委员。他也是新加坡 Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) 的理事。其他的职务还包括“新加坡出版上诉委员会”主席，“新传媒华文电视节目咨询委员会”主席，新加坡广播局的理事和“广播局节目咨询委员会”主席。
长期以来，郭教授从事双语教育与政策，社会语言政策，海外华人和传播政策与设计的研究，迄今已三十多年，在这些领域内，可谓硕果累累。已出版了中英文编著三十多种。发表在国内外著名学术期刊的文章也有三十多篇。而撰写书中的篇章，调查报告书，研讨会论文等共有一百多篇。详情可查：http//www.ntu.edu.sg/scs 郭教授主要的中文编著有《海外华人社会研究丛书》（与李亦园合编），《新加坡的语言与社会》及翻译了《新加坡华人的家庭与婚姻》（Chinese family and marriage in Sinagpore by Maurice Freedman）（与罗伊菲合译）。而英文编著有“Divorces in Singapore”，“Confucianism and the Chinese family in Singapore : Continuities and changes”， “Religion in Singapore”，“Language and society in Singapore”和“Communication policy and planning in Singapore”等。
